I highly recommend lining up a lactation support person prior to birth, even if you don’t end up needing the support. If birthing in hospital, many hospitals have these folks on hand, but you’ll need to ask for their services. If you’re working with midwives, they should be able to refer you to someone highly recommended in your area or be able to assist you themselves. Lots of postpartum doulas can offer assistance with breastfeeding as well. Here are some additional resources to get you started:
